DIY Chuppah Plans-- Coming in December, 2013!
We were just married in March of 2012, and we balked at the cost of having someone deliver, set up and take down a chuppah for our wedding-- after much searching, we found an event company that wanted $650 for the privilege, and we just couldn't see investing that much in a temporary structure.
We decided to do it ourselves, and the process was THE trial we had to survive to make it to our wedding day! We made many mistakes along the way, had a couple of fantastic fights, and spent more than we originally anticipated because of our errors. But in the end, our chuppah was just beautiful!
If you use our plan and instructions, your chuppah will look polished and fully-finished, not rigged or homemade, will be structurally sound (not sound enough to swing from like monkey bars, mind you, but if put together properly, you won't have to worry about being in "America's Funniest Wedding Videos" as your chuppah collapses around you), and it will support a nice-sized flower arrangement on the front (up to 12 lbs or so).
